This lecture introduces Harvard National Preparedness Leadership Initiative’s (NPLI) meta-leadership model as a modern theoretical construct, originally developed to help leaders respond to unprecedented large-scale crises, and available for adaptation by modern leaders in uncertain contexts. Students will consider the meta-leadership model described in the assigned reading (personal, contextual, and connectivity) as an additional means of approaching the varied demands of modern military leadership.
